SAN MATEO — October 26, 2026. Caltrans has scheduled another phase of overnight work around the SR-92/US-101 interchange, affecting three ramp movements at different hours through Friday, October 30. The agency says crews will replace asphalt surfacing and install a drainage system as part of the $45 million interchange improvements project.

The three ramps listed in the October 23 advisory are the westbound SR-92 connector to southbound US-101, the northbound US-101 exit to East Hillsdale Boulevard and the Fashion Island Boulevard entrance to southbound US-101. Closure hours differ: the SR-92 loop can close Monday–Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.; the Hillsdale exit has a later nighttime start; the Fashion Island entrance may close as early as 7 p.m.

Detours are not interchangeable

For the westbound SR-92-to-southbound US-101 connection, Caltrans routes traffic via Delaware Street and Concar Drive before returning to eastbound SR-92. For the northbound US-101 exit to East Hillsdale Boulevard, the agency directs drivers through the eastbound SR-92 connection, Edgewater Boulevard/Mariners Island Boulevard and East Hillsdale. Drivers using Fashion Island Boulevard should follow the posted signs for their approach direction; the source includes two separate detours.

These are ramp restrictions, not confirmation the entire interchange is closed. Check QuickMap for actual lane and ramp conditions. Official source: Caltrans District 4, October 23. Read San Mateo News.
