SAN MATEO, Calif. — October 27, 2026. San Mateo Parks and Recreation has scheduled a free ribbon-cutting ceremony for its rebuilt Central Park Playground on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 4 to 5 p.m., at 50 East Fifth Avenue.

Details for residents and visitors

The project’s theme is ‘Adventure Village,’ a forest-inspired play area intended to blend with Central Park’s mature canopy. Work includes new play structures, a shaded picnic area, a prefabricated restroom building, lighting, walks, seating, fencing and utility upgrades. The city’s October project update says renovation finished on schedule and within the approved budget.

Before you go or sign in

The November 10 event is the public celebration, not evidence that all amenities will be open before the ceremony. The city says advance RSVP is encouraged but not required. Parking and weather may affect access; check the park’s official notices.
